The people in the house over our back fence have had the builders in to do the sort of work which requires a temporary roof to be erected over the house. I have no idea whether they are still in residence, but one might have thought it was going to be a bit drafty, at least at times.
This morning, with the leaves being down and by some trick of the morning light, it was very prominent from the study window, not that the telephone gives much of the idea in the snap above.
Not any better zoomed, despite the tin lid in question being right in the middle.
I remember that we had the builders in twenty years or so ago to do various stuff indoors, mainly decorating, and that was quite grim enough. Couldn't face it now: decorating will have to wait for the next people. Never mind a temporary roof.
